Who we are

Amanda Lewis

Heart Behind

Amanda is a pediatric nurse practitioner and a mom of three. She has over a decade of experience as a pediatric NP, and a nursing background as a NICU nurse. Amanda built her career around caring for children while supporting and guiding the families who love them. From walking alongside parents during their most fragile moments in the NICU to caring for patients in primary care and pediatric endocrinology, she has always been passionate about bringing clarity, compassion, and advocacy into every interaction.

Amanda’s most meaningful perspective comes from life outside of the clinic. As a mom to three children—two of whom have rare and medically complex conditions—she understands firsthand the emotional, logistical, and medical challenges families face. Her family’s complex medical journey has included countless hospital stays, surgeries, infusions, and coordination between more than a dozen specialists, often across state lines. This dual perspective as both a provider and medical parent deeply shapes the way she connects with and supports others. At home, her life is full and grounded in what matters most—her husband, Rob, of 14 years, her faith, three kids, three dogs, and time spent outdoors camping, exploring, and cheering on her son from the sidelines of the soccer field.

Jessica became a nurse after losing her father to cancer—a loss that shaped her passion for caring for others and seeking deeper answers in health. Her journey as a nurse became even more personal when her daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just three years old. Now nine and thriving, her daughter’s experience inspired Jessica to become a school nurse and advocate for children with chronic conditions.

When additional health concerns in her daughter arose and answers were hard to find, Jessica turned to an integrative MD. This root-cause approach became a turning point—helping her daughter heal and reducing the risk of further autoimmune issues, while reshaping Jessica’s view of health and wellness.

A mom of two, wife to Shawn, and dog mom to their goldendoodle Hokie, Jessica blends professional expertise with lived experience. She holds her MSN, RN, CDCES, and NCSN certifications and is pursuing certification in functional health and nutrition.

Her mission is to help families raise healthy, resilient children by combining traditional medicine with a functional, whole-child approach and to help parents learn to advocate for their children in the current medical system and school systems.
